Are you a senior interested in classic movies? If so, then the Classic Comedies Through the Decades series is for you! This new film series features one movie per month. Every movie is shown in the Library's Main Meeting Room on the second Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. The movie schedule is as follows:

This fall, the Florence County Library will provide three free legal clinics. Sponsored by the South Carolina Bar Association's Pro Bono Program, the legal sessions will be held once a month at 6:30 p.m. in the Library's Main Meeting Room. The clinic shedule is as follows:

Interesting and intriguing, this impressive site is highly recommended.

Do biographies intrigue you? If they do, then www.pbs.org/history is the site for you! PBS History offers numerous biographies of individuals who have shaped the course of human history. This website also provides a wide array of other interesting historical information.

Do you need current, reputable medical information? If you do, www.medlineplus.gov is a great site for you! Medline Plus features a medical encyclopedia, prescription drug information, health news, and information about clinical trials as well as significant medical discoveries.

With thousands of biographies on notable figures and numerous interviews with prominent people, this site is a wonderful resource for biography enthusiasts and upper-level students as well.

Do you need information on government grants or a particular government agency? If you do, then www.usa.gov is the site for you. This website contains a wide array of government information including travel, recreation, government benefits, and job opportunities.

Adult Summer Reading Program

Beginning May 14th, patrons may register for the inagural Adult Summer Reading Program. Individuals may choose to register at the Reference Desk, the Reader Advisory Desk or by calling 413-7074. Registration is free. This year's theme is "Goodies for Grownups." All patrons will receive a special goody bag when registering for the program.

The Adult Summer Reading program runs from June 6th through July 19th with events each Thursday evening (except the kick-off event which takes place on a Wednesday night). The program schedule is as follows:

June 6th at 7 p.m. (10 a.m. for seniors)--Storyteller Bil Lepp
June 14th at 7 p.m.-- Chinese painting with Janet Kozacheck
June 21st at 7 p.m.--"Gardening in the Heat" with Tommy Taylor
June 28th at 7 p.m.-- Performance by Mac Arnold and "Plate Full O' Blues"
July 5th at 5:30 p.m.-- Movie night--"National Treasure"
July 12th at 7 p.m.--Ice cream making demonstration by Debora Parnel of Clemson
Extension (free ice cream will be available for all in attendance)
July 19th at 6 p.m.-Bluegrass Picnic featuring music by "Borrowed Time"
At the July 19th event, food and drink will be provided to registered
participants while supplies last
